A year is an incredibly short amount of time in the grand scheme of things, like using an inches to measure a field. Two years is a life of it’s own which we bore witness too as we passed it by. Somewhere in the middle sits the period of physical exhaustion without sleep, as if the brain could not be shut down in order to scrub away the terrible times, if one were so inclined to do so. And you should be; the nightmare was almost another lifetime ago.
